T0rlling? Oh noes, say it ain't so!

There are plenty of t0rlls spread throughout alt.*, they're a
fscking pestilential nuisance. If you must t0rll, do it in the
many t0rll froups and leave the real froups in peace. TYVM

filter out everything crossposted to more than three groups and you
generally come out at a much nicer place

Mine is a compromise. Didn't you notice that I didn't call for the troll
to be nuked from high orbit just to be sure?

Neither multi posting nor crossposting are acceptable. If the same
information is appropriate in more than one newsgroup, you write it up
in two different articles emphasizing what the audience in the first
group cares about, then in a different way to emphasize what the
audience in the second group cares about.

Nothing particularly bad with /most/ alt groups, it's just I've noticed
a lot of trolls like to crosspost to unrelated alt.* groups.

You'll have to tell me as I've never encountered a general crossposting
restriction like that. Certain servers -- the late AIOE comes to mind --
had crossposting restrictions specific to a handful of groups.

I think with E-S, it might be four or five .... but don't quote me!! ;-P

And exactly that makes the most annoying tolls post the same shit into
tens of groups as individual posts. So this advice indirectly
increases the amount of annoying posts I "manually" have to skip.

Whoosh

One uses a kill file for one's own reading purposes, not for the
troll's. I have no idea how you believe that the troll knows what the
reader is doing.
